3.2  Accreditation

The Tokai University School of Medicine is accredited by the Japan Accreditation Council for Medical Education (JACME) based on the World Federation for Medical Education (WFME) Global Standards. Accreditation period: October 1, 2022 – September 30, 2029.


3.3  Clinical Clerkship

Beginning in the second half of the fourth year, students participate in the clinical team as student doctors, connecting the knowledge and skills they have learned to actual patient care. The clerkship is divided into Major Rotations (Year 4) and Minor Rotations (Year 5).

3.5  Hawaii Medical Education Program (HMEP)

Launched in partnership with the John A. Burns School of Medicine, University of Hawaii, the Hawaii Medical Education Program (HMEP) is designed to introduce international standards of medical education and training into the Japanese system. Its vision is to train young doctors who can (1) treat foreign patients in English and (2) become global players, active in the medical systems of other countries.
